How much ride quality do you lose if getting a Street Glide for 2-up?

I do agree with lp on converting an UC to a SG......not a good move dollar wise.
But I would do it to a EG as that bike is minus the intercom and speakers anyway.
If I had to do it all over again, I would of bought an EG over the SG.
Dollar for dollar....you get more bike with a EG, you get more styling with a SG.
 
ive been on both for 2 up-ultra, the ride is much better especially for long distance,feel like i need a kidney belt on the sg. and the storage with a wife is mandatory.yes the sg is the in looking bike right now.
 
the road king and street glide have different handlebars. I have met no one who likes the stock bars on a road king. I have never done anything to the street glide's factory bars-they're perfect as stock. I had to do heritage bars or wild one 508's or 518's to the rkc to ride comfortably for any length of time on the road kings.
 
Wife and I have several 2-3000 mile trips on the SG. I do have an 8" clearview windshield and I use a sundowner seat with her. I have the detachable backrest for her as well as the detachable luggage rack. I use the HD backrest with the sundowner for me. With the shocks aired up to 50lbs we have no issues with the ride comfort. I am 215 and she is 120. I have big bag we strap on. No problems carrying all our stuff for 5-7 days. We do pack everything in vacuum bags. I can switch to my C&C seat in 5 mins which is what I have on the bike 90% of the time. I ride solo most of the time. When she rides with me we are logging miles. If I were shopping now I would look hard at the RG custom.
If all I were doing was long miles with the wife I would get the RG Ultra.
 
I have SG read shocks and SG seats with Memory foam installed on my RK. New bars that fit me. No trouble with riding single or double. The looks is what I wanted and most of my ride is solo and it's great. I am about 220lbs but if I want to plan a lot of long riding with the wife and would get a EG.

PS: You can't take a EG fenders off to look like a SG. I had to buy a SG front fender and rear fascia to get the look.

PSS: I also installed 18" front wheels. No problem.
 
I am not sure. I have never heard of anyone trying that. I had heritage bars that were done to a rkc. I also had wild one 508's or 518's which I liked the best. If you do the wild ones you will have to get cables lengthened by 4 inches, but can internal wire it which cleans it up a little and really looks good. Talked to a salesman at harley dealership who put the reach bars on his rkc and said he liked them, but don't know about them.
 
I can tell you I rented a SG when I vacationed in Hawaii earlier this year. NOTHING on that bike impressed me enough to trade my 03 FLHTCI in on.
 
Well first go out and rent one and see what you think! That's the best way

Opinions are like a$$holes everyones got one?

Myself and the BSR ride 2 up 75% of the time started on a new Heritage and loved it as we rode more and more miles we added detach tour pack.

Upgraded to another Heritage did a full blown custom with full detach tour pack and bags Loved it too.

Did fly and rides all over and rented Road Glides Classic's and Street Glides before deciding.

Rode Vegas, Flordia, the Blue Ridge, North & South Dakota and Wyoming on Rentals

Finally bought the CVO Street Glide and added the matching detach tour pak. If she is on the tour pak is on if she isn't it isn't. Works perfect for us and there is no difference in the ride from an Ultra except I thin the new Hydraulic shocks work better than the air do. You can order them.

The 18" wheels are a looks thing but if I were in your shoes I would stick to the 09 or newer as the frame difference is really a big plus!

I ride them all at work for an independent shop and not knocking a deal on older but all things being the same I would not buy an 08 or older. Of course funding always affects this call?

Only you can decide but if your drawn to the Street Glide buy it and make it your own!
