outside of the planets from our solar system (up to neptune and excluding pluto), what else have scientist discovered in our galaxy? i dont mean just the ability to see something and just know its there (like a neighboring galaxy), but is there something out farther in our galaxy taht scientist have been able to see and make theories about (consider how we know about venus but just imagine its an object farther out; those type of discoveries)? or is a lot of it more difficult to make out because of how certain objects block our view, and the dust and everything?
by 'explored' i mean in the sense that we can view somethign well enough to have atleast a decent understanding of it (such as venus)
