How much more education/time from MLT to MT?

I have been accepted into a medical laboratory technician program and was wondering after I have completed it and became certified to work in a lab, how much more education and time would it take to become a Medical Technologist? I realize I could instead go straight to the route of a bachelors degree instead of doing this program, but I'm already simultaneously working on my bachelors degree in biochemistry and I do not want to switch majors to Medical Technology.
