How much memory does it take to save games/create a profile on Xbox 360 Arcade?

I have a Xbox 360 arcade with no hard drive currently in it. I am not/will never be hooked up to Xbox live. I have a One gigabite (1gb) flash drive and I was wondering if that will be enough to save my games and create a profile. I will not be downloading ANYTHING, I will be using my Xbox to play/save games offline with friends locally and watch DVDs. Thank you in advance!
 
I think it should work out to play single player games, have friends they have arcade so it should work if you just want to play single player, (no multiplayer, no downloading )
