It will depend on some extent on your major and what papers you are required to take, but there will be a bit of maths to do, including calculus and algebra. I am doing a business degree with an economics major, and included a "Maths for Business" paper which has really helped.
While being confident with maths will be an advantage, economics is about a lot more than just maths. I guess you need to ask yourself why you want to study economics in the first place, and where you want that BS or BA to take you.
