How much longer will the US hold onto it's superpower status?

I think in the very near future the US will be regarded as "just another country" rather than anything resembling a superpower. All the social and economic trends over the past 30 years seem to point in that direction. We may have a period where no country can be called a superpower, but rather we'll be living in a multi-polar world -- hopefully held together peacefully by the UN.
