How much longer will my 1999 Chevy Camaro last (97,000 miles)?

It is a 3.8L V6 automatic 3800 series II engine.

I just bought it about 1 month ago from a used car dealer for about 3900 dollars. So far I have drove it about 1,000 miles and had no problems with it, except for a burn light bulb which I replaced. I am 23 and live in NYC. I drive about 10,000 miles a year.

-Until how many miles should I expect the car to last until?

-Chevy fans who know about this V6 car, what problems should I look for at this juncture (97,000 miles)

Overheating. 9/10 times it will be the thermostat or cooling fans. Routine maintenance is the life of any vehicle. I would have fresh oil change, new fuel filter, air filter and tune up done. That way you can track when the right intervals are due. I would strongly recommend keeping the oil changed very regularly. Don't treat it like a rental car. They will last. The 3.8 is a very reliable engine. I have a 98 Pontiac Bonneville that has 164,00 miles on it and is still running strong. We bought it 2 years ago for my daughter with 117,000 miles. Keep routine maintenance up and it will be a great investment. Good luck.
