Under the New Jersey code of Criminal Justice:

Your friend is in for a long haul if convicted. His sentence for the burglaries will depend on whether a judge gives him the min, medium, or max sentence and whether he is convicted for 1st 2nd, or 3rd degree burglary. Bear in mind, this is for each count and doesn't even include the car hopping charge.

1st degree
min 10 - med 15 - max 20

2nd degree
min 5 -med 7 - max 10

3rd degree
min 3 - med 4 - max 5

ok so my friend got arrested for car hopping in ocean city, new jersey and hesnow in Cape May County County Correctional Center now. Hes 18. when he was younger he did go to Juvie for 5 years for little things. Hes not on probabtion and hasn't got in any more trouble. He has a 15,000 dollar bail and 3 counts of burgulary. Do you no how long he will be in Jail for?

If he has a really good lawyer he can probably get a few years in jail with several years of probation after. It also depends if he is going to plead guilty or not, maybe also plea barganing will get him a lower sentence. But if it wasnt armed robbery i don't think it would be that bad. Usually the state will try and put a longer jail time sentence, but then a possiblity of parole after a certain amount of time, and they almost always let them off on parole to safe money.
