How much jail time will a man get for beating me while i was pregnant with his child?

I was 2 1/2 months pregnant and my ex threatened if i didnt get an abortion than he would physically force me to abort the baby by killing it himself. he then punched me in the stomach over and over again and kicked me over and over again on the floor. There were no witnesses of the actual beating, other than my two neighbors hearing me screaming and crying at the top of my lungs and running into my apt to find him runing away from me and fleeing the area. I called the cops right after and filed a report of the incident... i had no horrible visable bruising to take pictures of, but i did go to the hospital and there was reported bleeding in my placenta (around the baby) and contusions/ under the skin bleeding of my back legs and chest. I am curious if this case can go anywhere due to being no pictures of injuries, since there were no visable bruising... but there is the hospital report and a doctor report 3 days before the beating where everything with the baby was normal... there was no witnesses other than directly after the beating and hearing my cries and screams and seeing me tramatized and hysterical. and witnessing him drunk and angry. there are holes in the walls where he punched, the police took pictures of that and what they could of where i was hurting on my body although it was only a little bit of redness. apparently my ex also called one of my neighbors that came to my screams and was crying saying how bad he felt for hitting me. this was all in the state of california. and all happened a month ago. there is a detective working on the case. i am curious to how much jail time he will face if i press charges and how much he would face if i didnt press charges? He was also arrested 3 months ago for breaking and entering and battery and served 2 days in jail and in mid his 80 hours of community service for that. please help!
