I have an original first edition set of The American Revolution by John Fisk (The Riverside Press, 1891).

Does anyone have any way to estimate how much this set is worth on the open market. It seems the book is still being printed and new versions currently sell for around $40, I think?

Any input would be appreciated.....

I don't know about that specific book. You might seek identical books at AbeBooks.com or ebay, where asking price means nothing but amount bid suggests actual value.

Now the bad news. Many older books that seem like they ought to be valuable aren’t. Leather bound classics, in good condition, printed from the 1860s-1930s in the US are worth an average of about $2 - $3 each--if you can find a buyer. For many people finding a box of books in the attic or as part of grandma’s things, owning old books is worth more than you could sell them for.

While I would not be surprised if I were wrong, my guess is that you'd do well to get $10 for the set.
