How much is a samsung rant and how old is it.?

Im thinking of getting a new phone but i dont have much money. i love texting and it is a texter phone. i want a pretty new phone but i dont want it to be that expensive. how much is it too/
 
I paid about $100 for mine with a $50 rebate earlier this summer, but I'm pretty sure you can get them for around $50 now without a rebate. I think it came out last year. It's definitely a great phone for texting. My only complaint is that since it's an open-face phone, it often comes unlocked while in my pocket and dials up the last person I called.
