How much is a car worth with a "blue" salvage title?

i recently looked at a 2000 BMW 328i Sport Package. with a private party. It looks just like new, no dents, rust, nothing. i drove it and it sounds fine, the engine looks neat and in good condition. it has 128,700 miles on it. the interior looks new too. But when i asked him for the title, i saw that it was a blue title but when i read it is said "salvage". He is asking $5900. How much is the car really worth? is it worth buying it? thank you.
also, i am not taking out a loan i am paying cash up front so i need to know how much it would really be worth
 
he is asking alot for a salvaged title car I don't thinks its worth that much... i would say 4500 tops plus banks wont even give a loan on a salvaged title car... not that you need on just stating... I don't wanna talk you out of it but i think thats too much for a salvaged title car...
