...327cid and Posi-traction? The last owner replaced the I-6(straight six) with a 327 and he mounted the posi-traction axle after breaking the old axle(so he says). The shock transmission was keep but he cut the floor and installed a new shifter(it's got some play in it). The rest of the truck is stock as far as he says. was it worth the $600.00 I payed for it or did I get skunked
body is rusted but straight, Brakes all but gone(needs pads bad), steering is good and suspension needs shocks.
 
For $600 it's a steal.
The 327 was discontinued in '67 and was a good engine but the 350 has more stroke.
Replace the brake pads as soon as possible, then the shocks.
 
Uou got a good deal.The motor and rearend are worth what you paid...Just as long as you don,t have smog laws you are cool....I,d run the vin numbers on the 327 to see what it came out of...If it,s out of a classic vette you may make some money.
