The motor came from an army ambulance. It has an automatic 4 speed transmission with steel crank. Will have new seals and bearings once I get them put in. Was just curious if I could at least get my money back from it. Thanks

you,ll probably get your money back because i bought one already partially built to put in my truck and paid 800 for it,i didnt have the time to build it so you,ll get what ever you paid for it back, thats a good selling engine even though its a low compression engine theres still room in it to build it,mines only half built, the rings are still original just bearings and seals have been repalced, and few valves replaced, good luck with selling it.

Every motorhome (almost) for years had that powerplant. A replacement (rebuild) was running about $2300 a few years ago. So there might be a market for it there.

They never were good on gas, but pretty strong. I think they ran into emission problems. By the time you screwed it up enough to pass emissions, it got the bad mileage.
