How much horsepower does a 07 Honda Shadow Vt 750 have?

I have been looking at these motorcycles, but can not get a concrete answer. Could someone please give me an idea what kind of horsepower to expect out of a 07 Honda Shadow Vt750?

One website has it marked as this. 33.7 kw @ 5500 rpm. Anyone able to convert that into hp numbers? Thanks
 
They have about 40 hp, which is enough to haul the average person around.

They aren't quite big enough to ride 75-80 on the freeway for any distance, but around town and some freeway they are great.

I have one.
