I have received a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer from a friend as a gift and it is gorgeous. I would like to know what are some creative ways to make this machine useful at my house. (Assumming no attachment is involved, just the three beaters: flat, wire whip, and dough hook)
Thanks you so much for your input!

Okay, first of all they look great! Second it really is one of the best mixers out there. The only real problem I've found with mine is that even at top speed it doesn't go particularly fast. For really good mashed potatoes or whipped cream I'd like to see a little more power out of it. The three initial attachments should be plenty for most jobs...I yearn for the meat grinder and pasta maker add ons, though. You'll find that many cooking and recipe sites now almost assume you have one, because their recipes will say "use paddle attachment" or "use bread hook," when giving mixing instructions.

Didn't you get a recipe book with it? You usually do. Anyway, I wouldn't part with mine, love it to death. Especially at Christmas when I make hundreds of cookies. It mixes the cookie dough beautifully. It makes the best cakes. It creams butter and sugar better than anything I've had. It's a wonderful machine and you will love it. Use the dough hook for pizza crust or breads, whip cream with the wire whip and use the flat one for everything else.

I've had mine about 18 years. It's wonderful. I make cookies, brownies, whip egg whites and cream into fluffy light masses, knead dough for bread and sweet rolls, you name it! Mine came w/ 2 bowls and 2 paddles, which I highly recommend. You don't have to wash and dry between mixing cake batter and frosting!
