How much gasoline is required to run a small generator used mostly for...

...powering electronics? The main thing we need power for is operating/charging electronic devices, such as laptops. We don't need to run an air conditioner or anything like that.

I'm not sure exactly how to phrase my question. I guess one way would be: how long would 1 gallon of gas run the generator? Another way: how much gas is required to run it for 1 hour?

Any way of answering is fine with me! Thanks!
Guru: Thanks for the advice. My laptop draws around 75 watts. I have a cigarette-lighter inverter, but it drains the car battery too fast to be the only power source. I'd like to figure out a better solution.

A generator is one hell of a thing to use.
The stuff you describe draws hardly any current (power)
A small generator 1500~2000 W (the PC draws maybe 5W) would consume maybe 1 liter per hour.
Depending on your application, a car battery with an inverter is probably a better alternative.
Many (most) laptops have automobile adaptors, much more efficient than converting 12V to 120Vca and the back to 5V for the pc.

describe your application a bit more

Hope this properly answers your question
