My cars a 2000 ford ranger
Disc brakes in front

The front passenger side is grinding real bad, come to find out looks like the rear brake pad has come loose and is grinding against the rotor.
So im going to need new pads a rotors, and maybe a caliper on that 1 side?

you wont need a new caliper lol. you will have to get your rotors milled since you took way too long to change them out. (40 bucks) and new pads (from 35-65 bucks) do it yourself or learn and you will save about 120 bucks id say. and youre only taking out one bolt on each side hahah. i believe its 12mm just for refrence. anyways,

dont you have drum brakes in the back? if thats the case they are only like 10 bucks to replace yourself.

You probably wont need a new caliper. Without the pad on there, it is possible for the piston in the caliper to come all the way out which is bad. But that probably didn't happen if you can still drive it. If it came too far out, it would be leaking brake fluid bad and you would have probably lost all brakes within about 10 pushes on the brake pedal.

A rotor should run between 18-28 dollars per rotor at Autozone and a set of pads is about 19-28 for a set (both sides). The difference in price is the cheapies and the good ones.

If you take it to a shop it will probably be about 1 hour of labor, average labor is about 75 bucks per hour. You should get 2 rotors for your back to keep it even.

You have it pretty much down - "new pads, rotors and maybe a caliper."
That should take care of the front but you won't know if the rear brakes need anything until you remove the drums.
