Since I recently lost my job, I thought it would be a good idea to go back to college. Do you think I will be eligible for financial aid if I am unemployed?
I hear from people if my husband is employed does not mean that I will necessary receive any FA, but then It all depends on the income..unless they changed it over the years..

First of all, yes, your husbands income will be taken into consideration.

The second thing you need to understand is that "financial aid" is a very broad term. I can include grants, which are free and do not have to be paid back. Loans, both federally subsidized, unsubsidized, and private which you do have to pay back. And also work study programs in which the schooll gives you money if you work for them.

Almost ANYONE can get finiancial aid. But MOST often, financial aid comes in the form of student loans. These loans are very low interest, but you must still pay them back once you finish your degree.

Government grants are not easy to come by. Usually, you have to be a very low (poverty level) income family to be eligable for a government grant.

Grants given by the university, depending on the university, can also be hard to come by. If you are a very good student, or have a very good resume, universities may want you to go to their school. Because of this, they may give you a grant to entice you to come there. However, if you are just a regular "Joe Schmoe" then you shouldn't expect to get any grants.
