How much do you usually tip at restaurants?

Usually 15% to 20%. Wait staff have to put up with a lot crap from the kitchen, the managers, and the customers. They definitely deserve a good tip. The only time I tip below 15% is if the waiter/waitress is extremely inefficient, nasty, or rude.

I almost always tip 15%. I used to work in restaurants myself and I realize that this is really part of the waitperson's pay, they depend on it. Plus they are taxed on it whether they get it or not!

If a waiter is really bad, I will give a smaller tip. But even bad service is not always the waiter's fault--for instance if the food takes forever to come, that's not the waiter's fault.

when i am at winghouse or hooters, i leave a fat tip, i know, im a sucker for hotties, but hey those girls usually trying to pay for college, so y not help em out lol, but usually other places i leave %15, unless waiter/ess is really good and nice, then i leave a nice tip, but if they a holes, then i leave like a dollar, ive also been known to leave pennies

Tipping is usually considered part of the etiquette system however i rlly dont abide to that rule, i wouldnt tip a waiter/ess if they werent hospitable, some just throw the dishes on you like you've got a gun to their heads or even worse give you that *Do you rlly consume that much a meal* or *one more order and i'll kick you outta here*
If you're tipping its usually 15% of the cheque, but that also depends on the service.

I tend to start at a higher rate of tipping, but if the waiter/waitress is rude or doesn't check up, they definitely get a lower tip.

Im glad some one is asking u should tip at least 20% of ur check servers don't make any money unless they get ur tip , If you tip less they are haven to use there own money to tip out the runner, busser, and bar so take care of your server
