I recently made an illegal U-turn on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn. I immediately went into a spot, when two cops (they seemed like rookies because they had hats on) came over for my license and registration. I felt that they went overboard with the punishment. I got a yellow ticket that says U-turn in Business District, with code 4-05B1. I also got a pink summons ordering me to court that says DisCon (Obstructing Vehicular Traffic), Section 240.20 Sub 5.
Can anyone tell me how much money I will have to pay for these, and how many points will go on my record. I have a perfectly clean record in every way. Is there any way I can get out of going to court without having to spend a lot of money on a lawyer?
