How much do authors make.?

if i wrote a 150 page, 30,000 word book and its paperback and it sells averagly how much would i make. and what do i get first, and editor or agent.

Unless you write crap like Twilight and Harry Potter you'd hardly make enough to buy a toaster and bread for it.

You have to have tolerance if your in it for business. If your in it for the passion to write, you won't mind. Most authors need to have a REAL job. Writing is on the side. You can't rely or base your entire life on writing. And if you're doing it for the money, good luck. I love writing purely for it.

Plus, I doubt that that book will sell much. It's short, and you don't even have an editor or an agent.
