banning plastic bottles for good? Are plastic bottles really worth it, and how much effort does it take to recycle a plastic bottle, should we all be going to the same level as Bundanoon and banning plastic bottles for good, are plastic bottles one of the reason that we are all suffering from global warming?
 
i mean theres nuthin wrong with plastic bottles.. IF we recycle them an i mean all of them wich is almost impossible because no one hardly recycle but i do!!!
 
Plastic bottles have nothing to do with global warming. Yet, they are devastating to the environment.

The biggest problem is huge masses of plastic gathering in the oceans, slowly being broken into bits, being eaten by sea life. It stays in their stomachs, never to be digested. I figure it releases some nasty chemicals too.

Once-pristine beaches are becoming littered with plastics, much of it from China.

I wish it was reasonable to ban plastic bottles and return to glass, which is nontoxic and easily recycled. I just don't think that will happen.

We have to burn a whole lot more fuel to transport heavy glass bottles after all. Plus, they are easily broken.
 
In 2003, California estimated that 3 Million water bottles were trashed every day

2.7 million tons of plastic are used to make bottles in the US

inefficient way of getting it to stores (trucks) Tap water= very efficient with pipe system
