How much can my amp. put out in my jeep?

i have 2 135watt peak infinity speakers in the sound bar of my jeep and 2 (idk what they are) call them 100 watt peak front speakers but for christmas i got a 600 watt sony xplod power amp. does the 600 watt amp put out 600 watts for all 4 speakers combined rms or max?
what would happen if my speakers were too big for my amp? tell me stuff i should know so i dont mess up any new speakers i may get.
 
Look at the RMS power output of the amp per channel and find speakers that are least the same RMS power handling. You don't say how many channels the Sony amp is so I'm going to assume is a 4-channel.

Since that amp is CEA-2006 compliant, it actually pushes the power stated on the box.
