i have a 2000 ford crown victoria with the p71 police package. ive seen lots of supercharger kits for the mustangs that are set to 6-9 psi boost with no custom tuning equipment. no chips or programmers. no injectors. those are supercharger kits though. i was thinking of running a single turbo set up. can i run 6-9 psi of boost and how much power would i be looking at. stock is around 210-230hp. i don't know the stock compression ratio. its a 2 valve head. if i cant run the stock tune what kind of place could i get the car re-tuned so it would run right. im kind of getting bored with the cars acceleration but i don't want to sacrifice top end power either so rear end gear change is a no.

I wouldn't go higher than 9 lbs on any stock short block unless forced induction was installed at the factory (ie. 2003/2004 Cobra shortblocks can handle 14+ lbs). With a turbo running 9lb of boost and the rest of the engine remaining stock, 350hp should be easily obtainable. You will have to get the car tuned, otherwise it will run like crap. You'll have to look up performance shops in your area, most good shops dyno tune cars for a reasonable fee.

That said, a bolt-on supercharger kit is the easiest route, it will come with everything you need. Most kits these days include chips/tuners for the specific application.
