How much abuse can a 2.0 liter mazda duratec engine take?

Its in my protege. Would accelerating fast hurt it bad? What about shifting around 4k as it has a 5 speed. Are these engines good? Maintenance is very highly kept on this car with fully synthetic everything and regular changes.
The clutch has 17k on it. Would I be hurting the transmission if I accelerated fast
 
no it will not japanese cars are built to last a lifetime cars can take high rpms and high heat just make sure you are under the redline when you shift because it is harmful for your clutch and thrust bearings my friend has an 89 240sx which turned 10 this year has over 300k miles on it still runs strong lost a bit compression but a replacement gasket and piston rings did the job still pulls hard and he still shifts at redline
