How many young author are ACTUALLY out there?

Are you asking for prominent authors or just young writers who have been published? Technically speaking I've been published multiple times since I was in the first grade. Now I write online as the Cleveland Literature Examiner as well as writing a monthly column for my local newspaper. I had a nonfiction essay published in a literary magazine as well. I'm only 19 (for a few more weeks), and I'm an author. Not sure if that really answers your question, but it's one example of a young and published writer.
