How many you Contractors dispute some or all the Show Holmes on Homes, and why?

i won't comment on the tv show. i will tell my personal experiences with contractors

contractor 1, during a lull in my job worked elsewhere, got involved in drugs, went to a half way house, got kicked out and hasn't been heard from since

contractor 2, in a four month time period did only one month of work, tried to get money in situations the contract didn't allow for, refused to enter arbitration as required by the contract, then abandoned the contract and went bankrupt

contractor 3, doesn't follow the plans, makes decisions without consulting with the owners, and has pissed of the architect, the engineer, the building and safety inspector, and the building and safety supervisor of inspectors - the last resulted in a stop order being placed on the job

i am fairly certain there are good reputable contractors out there but i haven't had the luck to hire one yet

each contractor i hired was checked out with the state contractor's license board, the better business bureau, and their references

i am tired of being screwed over by @ss hole contractors
 
I like the show Holmes on Homes but as always there are two sides to every story. This is the only problem I have with this show. Other contractors point of views of the same situation are not presented. Therefore I want to give a chance for these contractors to do so here.

Never heard of the show, but I can tell you this: There are as many ways to get the same job done (or not done, hehe) as there are contractors. And this: Getting contractors to critique other contractors work is NOT a good idea. Most of us (yes, I'm a contractor) don't give a rat's @ss what the competition is doing and tend to keep our opinions to ourselves unless there is something REALLY WRONG with the work in question.
