How many years do I have to go to college to become a sports doctor?
And whats a good school to go to in NY for the sports/medicine field?

12 to be any kind of doctor. Specialist usually can go to a post graduate school that offers that specialty field and you can finish that up in the same time period, plus apprenticeships.
You'll need 4 years of college, 4 years of med school and then at least 3 years of residency in orthopedics to become a sports doctor. Start out by finding a college strong in the sciences so you can be prepared to do the work in med school.
