How many TV's can be plugged into a satelitte system? Currently I have 2 HD TV's and 2 SD's. One of the HD's I wanted a dual tuner HD pvr, and the other HD TV with just a HD box. And of course an SD receiver for the 2 other TV's.

I'm pretty much fed up with Rogers, but the only thing that's kept me from switching is cause of the amount of TV's I have (which are all in use), and I'm not sure if it would be possible or not. And I would have a 5th TV that I would like to plug in if that would be possible.

I believe BEV has a limit of six receivers per account, either single or dual tuner.

You can have as many TVs as you want. ;) ExpressVu allows 6 receivers. 6 dual tuner receivers can feed up to 12 TVs with individual programming (up to 6 HD and 6 SD.)

And how would that be setup? I'm kinda new to satellite.

I thought if you had a dish with 2 lnbf you could only send the signal to 2 receivers, and if you split it to other TV's, they would get the same channels?

use a switch you can find it here

Not true at all. We have 4 TVs and each with it's own receiver. 2 HD and 2 SD. Splitters are not used that I am aware of. The line is routed through a switch at the dish.

As stated above, ExpressVu has a limit of 6 receivers per account.......

However, some model receivers can run more than 1 TV each which a unique tuner (dual tuner receivers) and the output of the receiver can be split and run to more than 1 TV (same show).

So, there is no (realistic) limit to the number of TVs. There is a limit of 6 receivers (max 4 rental unit I believe).

A single dish (whether or not it supports more than 1 sat) can be wired to support dozens of receivers with the use of a switch (see link to installation thread above). If necessary, you can have more than one account to get beyond the 6 receiver limit (you pay for each obviously).

So, depending on what you want to pay, the answer is as many as you can fit in your house :)

Bell Express Vu allows you to have 6 active receivers on your account, whether HD or SD. Dual tuners receiver (3200, 3500, 5200, 9200, 9242) are considered as 1 receiver. You can therefore hook up to 12 tv's on one account

If you require more receiver than that they will open a second account (and you would have to pay the programming a second time)

Ex Agent, I believe everything you stated had already been said. However the limit of 4 TVs is inaccurate. As stated, the number of TVs is irrelevant since you can run as many as you want, assuming they watch the same image.

There may be a limit of 12 tuners coming from 2 dual tuners IRDs. It is also possible to go beyond the 6 IRD limit by contacting the VP of operations at Bell.

with SChoice you can have 4 seperate tuners (box's)
but I have 3 tvs in the basement onto the same box.
1 seperate one in a tv room, 1 seperate in another bedroom, and 2 others onto another tuner. you can get dual tuners also. (watch one channel while you tape another) each tuner has coax output, s video output, and rca output.
if you get a HD receiver. you will have dvi out, component, s vid, and coax.
so I have 7 hooked up to 4 boxs. but could actually hook up a couple more.

I just hooked up 5 units needed to put 6 but the guy said, sorry sir but you have reached your limit of 6.Ohhh,but I don't understand,...sir your 9200 counts as 2.
So there you have it. And this happened last week just in case your wondering.

Nope ... he is wrong. Receiver limit is 6, doesn't matter how many dual tuners you have. I currently have a 6 receivers (total of 8 tuners as two units are dual tuner).

To be accurate, it is access sytems they havea limit on. A dual tuner receive has one access system.

I think SC allows 6 also, posibly 8. I have 4 SC receivers with no problems though.

I have the following;

1 - 9242 - Dual Tuner
1 - 6141
2 - 3100
1 - 2700

3 have a connected phone line
connected via 2 dishes and 2 SW44s

A few months ago I had 1x9200, 1x9242 and 3x4100 all activated on my account (7 tuners). The CSR didn't baulk at doing that.

Ok, it isn't necessary for everyone to post what they have on their accounts ;)

Currently (and for many years now), the limit, as stated, is 6 receivers but many CSRs incorrectly count tuners. End of story.

Not quite, there is a slight error in your posts. Some of the old grandfathered accounts have eight receivers allowed on their accounts. I have 3 x 3100, 4 x 6100 & 1 x 9242 all on one account active at the same time. Every time I have to call and speak to a CSR they want to remove two of the receivers that "I have in error" on my account. lol
