How many servings of the British delicacy of fish and chips can you safely eat?

I've been over in the UK for a while and I've been pigging out on fish and chips. I'm just concerned, because they are so saturated in oil or fat or whatever that translucent goo is, that sometimes you slop down the fish and chips on your plate and it's like swimming in about an inch deep of oil. I've tried eating other British delicacies, like curry, but I find the same with that too - you have to scour the coagulated sea of hot orange grease very carefully to find those precious few pieces of reconstituted meat. Anyways, just going back to fish and chips here, I was wondering how many portions it would take before I keeled over and died? I was wondering if I was going to make it out alive after my last serving - and I can still feel the grease coated against my teeth and mouth nearly two weeks later. I am very concerned about this. I don't want to keep eating this stuff, but, right now I have to eat take-outs and I can't find any alternatives. If I find out it's unhealthy to eat this stuff every day, I might have to try to revise my diet and eat something healthy like white bread or Twiglets. If you have any knowledge in this subject area, please advise, thanks!
