how many quarts of transmission fluid to need to put in my grand jeep cherokee?

my dad put a new transmission in my jeep cherokee and ive aredy put five quarts in it put i think it needs more. how many more do i need to put in?? because its not showing up on the metal wire looking thing that measures how much there is but the thing is dry. i tried looking for the answer in the booklet my car comes with but it doesnt say anything about it.
 
welll after you put the transmission oil in run the car around the block let let it run for like 10 minutes and check the dipstick again while the car is running ( remeber this is not engine oil which the car needs to be off) untill it shows you need to keep addding it. it might take even 8 quarts

look in your owners manual under capacities it will also tell you the correct fluid to use.
