I have a 1993 Toyota Corolla in need of a charge. I've searched the web and cannot find any specs for the a/c system, short of buying a manual.

it will take about 2 cans of it ,to recharge it ,unless its empty or has had a leak in it,then it will hold close to three cans from empty or about 3.3 pounds,i owned one of those cars, and after changing compressors it held a little over three pounds.there's a sticker on the compressor that will tell you how much charge it will hold, there will also be a small sticker on the radiator support about this, unless the compressor was changed about 2 cans will probably do the job, good luck.

You cannot use R12. You have to retrofit it with R134a.

You don't go by cans, but by pressure gauge. That is the only way to do it right.

Good Luck...

The car should be using r-134A as r-12 is now illegal. If the car has not been retro fitted to use r-134a this will need to be done before you fill it.the capacity 1.32lbs.
You may have a sticker somewhere that says 1.65lbs of r-12 but r-134 you only put 80% of the r-12 capacity
