How many people if any were able to successfully escape from the concentration camps?

Very few were ever able to escape.

Read about the breakout at Sobibor. It's a great story and quite a few did get away from there. Other than this incident, these camps were locked down tight.

I am not aware of any specific individuals who are known to have escaped from a concentration camp. The camps were surrounded by several bands of fencing and barbed wire. The space in between was patroled by soldiers and dogs.

People held in concentrations camps were deprived of proper clothing and starved, so I can't imagine anyone having the means or the strength to organize an escape.

Very few people even survived the camps.

Hitler's regime could not afford to have anyone escape a concentration camp, which would have exposed all that was going on. Every effort was made to confine prisoners and exterminate them as quickly as possible.

If you plan to write on this topic, you have a great deal of research to do. It is an incredibly serious matter and you owe it to the victims as well as the survivors to grasp the gravity of the situation.
