How many people have actually felt their heart ache?

I've always wondered: how many people out there have actually felt their heart physically ache over something/someone?

Be honest.

And by heartache, I don't just mean: "OMG! how could he/she do this to me? that bitch/asshole! I was like I luv u and he/she was like yeah me 2 - 4 eva 4 sure - and now he/she is screwing my bestfriend OMG life sucks, every1 h8s me...bla bla bla"

I mean the real deal - the bullshit-free, soul-draining, foetal-position-inducing, "no-hope-left" insomniac type heartache experience.

If you need a real-life example: Bob Geldof over former wife Paula Yates is probably the best example I can think of..

No offense, but that "fatigue/exercise" bit makes me think you should actually vote 'no'. Because if you really had been through what I'm refering to, you'd know exercise/fatigue doesn't come nearly close.

Damn, wish I had a copy of the Bob Geldof interview on that British interview show Parkinson's. Then I could better show what I mean.

Like I said, no offense, just my opinion...

no offence taken..
i was saying that my heart has hurt from emotion, most notably when my son died aged 6 days.. i know, too much information..
but also when i took ecstasy for 4 days..
and also whenever i go jogging..
obviously the first one hurt the most but i was just saying extra stuff, that's what i do..

peculiar how intense, emotional pain can make you feel like you are going to physically DIE! your whole body will actually ache, and i've been known to literally convulse with sadness. However, it is astounding how a heart will heal, even when we swear it won't. Time doesn't "heal" emotional wounds, but will eventually numb them out. Crying helps. It doesn't solve, or change things. But the release, I believe, is nesassary when trying to "let go."

Ouch, that's harsh. My true sympathies.

I think I see where you're coming from now, "everyone's been through something" right? Or will probably one day.

It's a good point.

when i was deported (the term i use for when i left), i left someone i loved. I had one bad day where everything else i had left was breaking, my bass (music is half my life) snapped a string, and my mtb (mountainbiking is the other half of my physical life) broke, i was actually on a bridge, yelling at the top of my lungs with tears (tear), thinking i would jump off onto the highway below. That would be ok, except im known for being happy, plus im big so it mutve looked akward. I think thats the feeling you meant, everything falling apart around you.

The only time I get an heart ache is when I am running 5 miles. It usualy it hits at the first 3 miles but then it goes away after the the next half mile. But it never actually Died...

It has hurt when one of my pets died. They are something you take care of like a child. They depend on you for love and other necessities, as well as attention and a safe place to be. When one passes away, it really takes a chunk out of your heart.

I've had other heart aches that have happened to me and someone very close to me but it's personal so I won't go in to that. But my answer is yes. Your heart really does ache when it's broken. It could be a physical change in your blood pressure when feeling so sad and blue, but no matter what causes the physical pain, it's there. It hurts, it's real, it's psychosomatic, it truly feels like your heart has broken apart.

The only pains my heart get are stabbing pains that have no apparent reason. As for emotional pain, my solarplexus (one word?) is where I feel the sadness.

Chemically, thats absolutely true. Something about crying that stimulates different enzymes or something... I'd look it up and stuff, but hell, my heart is broken.
