How many of you believe that we need only the New Testament if Jesus said that He

came to acomplish the law? He said He came to acomplish the law, not to destroy it. It was the law gaven by God in the old Testament, the law already gaven. For example there is a law in the Old Testament that sayes that is a sin to see your mother or father naked. But Jesus doesn t mantionateing that. So that means that is not a sin? I don t think so.If He acomplished the law of the Old Testament, we should too because there are rules made for people too not only for jews. What do you think?

1. Learn how to spell check.

2. Why are you talking about your parents being naked. You are sick.

Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Israel is an example for us. I believe we are to follow the commandments of God but we are not saved by our good works. Through faith.

Jesus referred back to the Old Testament indirectly and directly many times. He definitely upheld the law that came before Him and did say phrases such as "it was written" and "you have heard it has been said to those of old." Given the fact He used these references readily and many times, He was promoting the text overall.

Pretty much Jesus came to teach and reaffirm those laws that had already been in place. I don't think, however, that we need only the New Testament as a reference to these laws. I think it is important to refer back to the texts that Jesus Himself used. It would be like finding references in a text you are researching and using those references mentioned as further testimony to your research.

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.

In other words He did not come to do away with the law and say it was no longer needed. He did NOT abolish the law, but he set the example of fulfilling the law.
We all fall short, we all have failings, Jesus set the example.

The analogy of the sights on a rifle is good to consider. The Old Testament is the "rear sight" and The New Testament is the "front sight". It takes both to hit the bullseye. You dont want to just shoot off in all directions do you?

We were born naked, was that a sin? I believe not. I think the bible has a message in a way, the way that we all question in life until we find the meaning of why we are here. Until we learn why we must not "sin", we will not be knowledgeable and spiritually intelligent enough to understand what enlightenment means. When Jesus said "this world shall pass away", perhaps he was talking about the material things that we tie ourselves to in life. We are born into this world where we are tested, by ourselves, to learn and find meaning for why we are here. I think eternal "hell" (which translates into earth in other languages) means to continuosly re-incarnate on the earth. If you do not want this, there is a way out which you have to seek, but the more you stay on earth the more you can learn from it, I think that is why we return to earth when we die and re-incarnate into other forms, to experience life. We can have a great knowing of life in our sleep, it gives us an insight into the spiritual realm. We are here for the experience.
