Taxis are FTMFW. Fuck spending 10 minutes driving around town, paying tolls, and possibly hitting a cop car.

you can use them to get away from the cops too , get a wanted level, get in a cab, go somewhere else, when you get there the cops wont be near yet. at least, when i did it.
