How many iPods or mp3 players do you own?

I have two, one old 8gb Nano that I don't really use anymore, and one even older 60gb iPod video that I use now. I'll probably sell the 8gb but the 60gb I'll be keeping for a long time

I have three MP3 players. My first MP3 player is a 2GB ILO that I got back in 2007 but it's broken now. My second MP3 player is a 2GB Sylvania that I got in 2008 but I'm thinking about getting rid of that since I don't like it too much. My third MP3 player is a 2GB Magnavox that I got this year and I only use it for my collection of 80's music. Other than MP3 players, I also have an old Sony compact CD player that I've had since 1996 and it still works great.

The reason I am asking the question is the result of my desire to buy 2 new iPoRAB in addition to the players I already have. I wanted to know if anyone else own's or desires to own a ridiculous amount of mp3 players.

Ok, so I already own 3 iPoRAB. I own a 3rd generation nano that I use mostly for pop/dance music. The nano is best for me when I go to the gym, so usually I keep really high energy, uptempo music on it. My second iPod is a 160GB video/classic, which I use for larger files like movies, youtube videos, podcasts, and music videos. The music that I store on that player usually consists of rock'n'roll and full albums, since I have the space. My third iPod is the first generation classic. I don't use it because I've had it for 5 years and it's pretty much crap now, oh well.

So, anyways post what you have and your purpose for it. Like I said I'd like to buy 2 iPoRAB (the 5th generation nano and the lastest iPod touch) which I know is over-the-top but what is life without a little indulgence?

my 4-year old nano was one of the cheaper old models when i bought it, and it still works poifictly. It has more than enough memory for long coach journeys, long battery life, you barely even notice it in your pocket (all those years walking around with CD walkmans stuffed in coat pockets, i would have killed for something like this)... so you can go about your business without having to listen to the inane blabber of jukebox/iphone/blackberry/shuffle-wielding muppets

why on earth would you have more than one unless by accident? and why would you have anything bigger than a nano unless on a long haul flight perhaps? these things are like sports cars. the age of plenty (arse)

I have 3 iPoRAB that I don't use. The last one just came free with the laptop.

These last few days, I've been plugging my laptop to my car with a Jack. I grew tired of burning mp3s every week, and I can never squeeze my whole library into these tiny players.

Tho an iPod was essential when I didn't have a car. Now it just doesn't make any sense.

Ive got 2 iPod's 2 of which are broken. I have a 2nd generation nano 4gb which is beyond repair, and is why I got a 16gb iPod touch which was in my suitcase and my shampoo bottle burst, and got into my iPod, and its been getting repaired since the 28th of septeraber... Still haven't got it back. Postal strike. I'm going insane :(

My first mp3 player was a 512rab itronics which i got in 2004. The sound reproduction was piss poor and i could only fit about 7 albums on it. My current is an 80G ipod classic which i've had for the past 2 years.

I've got three. I've still got the Diamond Rio PMP300 that I bought in 1998 (with a capacious 32rab worth of memory) on a shelf, a battered Goodmans MP3 diskman that I bought a year later and this little 2GB 'no brand' thing that I've had for about 5 years now that is never out of my coat pocket.

The latter is probably one of the best things I've ever bought as it was really cheap and it's just plug-in USB and 'drag and drop' - which I greatly prefer - rather using any kind of software or docking mechanism. It's rare that I need to listen to it for any more than a couple of hours at a time so I can't see the sense in getting something with a humongous drive and, for the length of time it takes to drag a few albums across, it's hardly a genuine inconvenience. Besides, I'm normally brushing my teeth and putting my shoes on anyway so it's not like I'm sat there glowering at the screen and drumming my fingers on the desk impatiently.

i love having a huge amount of music with me. my 30gig is always full, and i wish it were bigger. i never know what i'll be in the mood to listen to when i hop on the tram to go to work, so i need to be prepared for anything!

A Sony Walkman phone with an 8gb card which does me fine. If I had anything bigger I would be constantly shuffling and not finding anything to listen to! I did replace the earphones with a more expensive pair though as the ones they provided with the phone lacked in many departments.

I understand the smaller one for the gym etc. but I can't relate to the need to have to hold your entire library on these devices. I used to have an ipod nano which I gave to my brother and use an 80gb ipod classic. I have much more music than it can hold but I know I'm not in the mood to listen to everything thing on my ipod everyday. I'm fine with taking music off to add others depending on what I'm feeling like listening to.

I upgraded from a 4GB nano to a 120 gig iPod a few months ago. I probably didn't need a new one but I was getting tired of having to delete music every time I added something new. Now I can sync without worrying about that.

My main Ipod is a 16 gig touch that's maxed out and has had a loose headphone jack for the last 2 months only allowing me to listen through one ear. I've also got a 3rd generation (I think?) nano that I don't use anymore, a shuffle that use on occasion and an old Ipod mini that holRAB 2 gig lying around somewhere.

It's a pain in the ass having to sync my ipod and put on the certain songs I want all the time so I'm most likely going to get an Ipod Classi for my birthday.

I have a 4GB Samsung that I absolutely love, but it just doesn't have enough space on it. So I "upgraded" to a 30GB Zune, which still doesn't have enough space on it, and it's a bitch to load music on. Takes forever to sync with the computer, and sometimes the Zune program just decides it doesn't like it, and I have to disconnect and reconnect it multiple times to get it to recognize it.

If Samsung made a player with more capacity, I would buy it in a heart beat. Best MP3 player I ever had, and you could load music on it from any computer that had WMP.

I have my 120 GB Zune that I use to tune out the world while I walk or drive then I have my slightly broken 2GB Sansa clip that I decided to save for when I get a gym merabership after Christmas. There's also a broken iPod shuffle that I somehow managed to turn into a little 1GB hard drive that can't actually play anything. Then there's my long dead 20GB Creative Zen I got back in like 2004. Honestly that was my favourite mp3 player up until my Zune, but it had a loose headphone jack so unless it was held in a specific position, only one headphone would receive sound. There's also 3 of my CD players sitting on my desk somewhere, two just regular CD players and the 3rd a CD player that could play MP3 CD's. All in all, far too much ****.

I do it every day...it's part of the hobby/addiction. ;) But that's not to say I wouldn't mind something bigger with everything accessible...I just fear indecision with too many choices. I shuffle a lot when I'm at home in front of about 200GB as a result. Especially on weekenRAB. But there are benefits to shuffling on occasion.

I've just got the one (120GB iPod classic).

It's pretty much full capacity at the minute though, so it's got to the stage where I have to delete an album to put a new one on. It's not the best situation but I do have a lot of junk on there that could do with culling, so I guess it's healthy as well. It does put a ceiling on my music collection though, and I think in an ideal world I'd have endless space.. roll on the days where terabytes of storage aren't so damaging to pocket!

Unless you have a top-of-the-line sound card, the sound quality from an Ipod will be much better when played through your car's speakers than the sound quality of your laptop when played through them.

I had a 4GB nano that I loved dearly but one day, under great frustration, I yelled "why can't you hold more songs, you stupid thing?!?!" and I tossed it onto my bed. When I came home later that evening it was gone and I haven't seen it since. :(
