Just past the water temple. I definitely recommend printing out the heart guide to collect them all. You should be able to beat the game with 20 or 21 if you get them all.

i think ive got 7 and i jsut beat the water temple. collecting the hearts is cheap because some of them are impossible to find unless using the guide...and it just makes the game easier if you have the hearts

dude i must suck ass.. i only got 6 hearts and i just beat the water temple boss..the giant tentacle big eel with the eyeball.

its pretty hard to fight bosses with so little hearts. all the ones i got were from beating bosses..i've only found enough heart containers for 1 extra heart.

There is 2 hearts in each temple, go exploreing youll find tons.
