...during times of financial duress? in re to economy crisis?

How does volunteering an hour aside from work; effect the quality standards of service oriented jobs?
 
Most of us do accept some patients knowing we will never be paid. in fact we try to keep it under 10% in our office. This does not include the massive reductions pd by insurance companies. Given the number of hrs worked, and trying to maintain a family and some social life, I think we do more than the average person!
