How Many Have you Got?

This is the RYM top 100 compiled from the users preferences. So it has a lot more merit to me than a typical Rolling Stone magazine 100.

Question is: how many of them do you own? Do you agree with the list? I own 47 of them and maybe want another 20 of those. The rest don't appeal to me. Is Wu Tangs 36 charabers the best Hip Hop album? Is Ok Computer really top 10 material? discuss.

That's a great list, even though I wouldn't quite call Ziggy Stardust Bowie's best album or put OK Computer in the top 10, but that's just a personal taste thing I suppose. There's also an alarming lack of the Village Green Preservation Society there

Since it's user preference, isn't it 100% popularity. A lot of those albums are way too high. I have 28 of them probably want another 10-15 more off that list. A TON of Jazz on that list that I don't have (like ^ said).

...
I've never used RYM all that much other than to check facts...(album releases, year etc.)
Out of that list, i own like 20 or so and another 15 more downloaded(if that counts). I don't mind listening to Jazz, but It's not something i could listen to forever. Hmm, interesting, I've never actually visited RYM all time charts till now.(damit, i don't even have an account there yet)

I own 94 of them, dont have the classical ones.

Although I totally disagree with the list I like it a lot more than other lists posted around the net. I do love RYM, it's a great site.

Wu Tang Clan, no thanks, nowhere near it's deserved place. OK Computer is too high also.

I guess it does help a lot.
The list doesn't seem all that bad tbh.(much better than most other lists)
From a personal point of view, I'll definitely disagree with it. I own a lot more than what i listed just above. It's just that some stuff like Neutral Milk Hotel or Velvet Underground or even The Doors don't appeal much for me.

Of the top Ten albums, only Dylan deserves to be there, of the top 100.. only 32 of the albums listed deserve consideration at all. At a quick glance I have 40, but listened to around 80 in my time.

i don't own any of them... :(

Guess that's 'cuz i'm a more of a song person than an album person.

Being able to buy JUST the songs i wanted, online, was the single biggest contributor to me being here, in fact. :(

I'm trying to decide whether the GZA being that high is a good or a bad thing, obviously Liquid SworRAB shouldn't be THAT high but it's good something like that gets a mention.
Too much Dylan.
Would have had Reign In Blood, Kid A, Beggars Banquet and What's Going On higher but i'm nitpicking now.

I own 76 of those albums, but fewer top jazz albums than I imagined.

I certainly disagree with a lot of the list. For instance, putting The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady above Mingus Ah Um is just wacky. And Getz/Gilberto should have been much, much higher. The Miles Davis albums they had were kind of cliche anyways. I want to see Water Babies or Porgy and Bess somewhere on there. =)
