how many gallons of gas does a 1989 Toyota Camry hold?

I never let the gauge go below 1/4 and when I fill up I usually get about 8-10 gallons. Last time I let it go below 1/4 it dropped very quickly. I wanted to know if the gauge was accurate and also to figure out how many mpg's I am getting.
 
Rely on your car's owner's manual for accurate specifications like "capacities" usually in the back of the manual. Download a free manual below. Gas mileage does not depend on tank size, since it is the ratio of the number of miles traveled on your trip odometer divided by the number of gallons shown on the gas pump when you fill up. Always reset the trip odometer at a fill up and then you can compute your mileage and also you have a much more accurate way to tell how much gas is left in your tank.
