How many fish can I fit in my ten gallon tank?

So far I have 2 tiger barbs and 2 neon tetras. I plan on keeping the fish small ( no bigger then 2" ) but getting different kinds.
 
if the fishes are small i say 8 or 9.but if there big fish 4.You know that there going to get bigger so dont think there going to stay that way so even u put 8 or9 fishes in there ur soon going to get an other tank.but if u want it to stay for like a year and not buy an other tank i would say just keep the same fish u have or get 1 more.okay
