How Many Films Do You Have To Star In To Be An "Actor"?

We had this discussion over Christmas when Stephen Dorff presented a Top 50 on TMF (jeez, talk about personality by-pass).

Now, we all know Stephen Dorff is an actor, but neither me nor the wife could name a single film he's been in. Same with Matthew McConaughey.

So here we have two "actors" who haven't actually starred in a memorable film between them.

Dorff was in Backbeat and Blade

McConaughey has been in a fair few well known films.

Check out their filmographies

oh and in answer to the thread title. The answer is 0. You can act in plays, TV programs or even adverts.

Dorff has also been in The Power of One?
But yeah not the most well known of actors.

McConaughey has been in a number of moderate hits - there's no blockbusters or stand-out films.
Perhaps the most well-known would be 'How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days'.

No doubt Saigo, no doubt.

I have actually seen several of Stephen Dorff's films including Blade, FearDotCom and World Trade Center, which obviously goes some way to describing what a forgetable actor he is.

As for McConaughey - all I can say is "meh".
