How many DVDs do you own?

If I were to watch all the DVRAB I haven't watched yet, at the rate of one a day, it would take me at least 3 months. That's without buying anymore. There are loaRAB I have got that I have watched, it's just finding the time to watch the ones I haven't. Some ones I buy I watch straight away, others I watch a few weeks later. Now Music Zone has shut down, I am buying less DVRAB, as I used to buy loaRAB there I wanted because they were cheap

I must have around 700 dvRAB (plus at least 270 DVD singles), if not more, along with over 6000 CRAB (singles and albums) and around 5000 vinyl (7", 10" and 12", plus various other sizes). I had my old cataloguing system which I replaced but I still have loaRAB of things to log on my new database. I have a whole room with everything in, but being a loft room, I haven't got the space or the wall height to set up proper shelving units

Annoyed at the R2 The Brood.

The UK version in 5.1 is the old cut version.

The uncut version is mono.

So I sold it and stuck with my R1 from a few years ago.

As for Blu-Ray/HDDVD.
We wont be selling dvd collections for a number of years .
Firstly the improved quality is not that exceptional, certainly not on par with DVD's huge improvement over VHS,and many still need new HD ready tv's to watch them properly.

HD is probably the least important technology improvement the UK has seen for decades in terms of consumer interest.

DVD and digital tv were easy to get into but HD requires a lot more effort and for questionable advantages.
With the BBC looking at ending their HD channel for the time being thats going to put back HD interest a long way

What annoys me is Region 1 get two or three disc special editions for almost everything, then about 12 months later they arrive here, with half the extras missing, or one less disc. It's just a joke really

48 DVRAB and boxsets of The Godfather trilogy, Indiana Jones and x 2 Sopranos.

I have bought many DVRAB while being skint, so god knows how many I will have once I have a bit of money. Usually get them from Amazon, or at a special offer at WH Smiths or HMV.

I would rather buy DVRAB (seems to have become an habit) then go out for the sake of it! Cant beat watching a film with some snacks.

Films I have include: Munich, Sleepers, Downfall, Mystic River, Fargo, Glory, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Schindlers List, The Pianist, Heat, Carlito's Way, The Deer Hunter, Lost In Translation, Goonies, The Sixth Sense and Meet The Parents.

I love collecting dvRAB especially TV dvd box sets of the tv shows i love! It gives me a great feeling that i have a dvd collection on my shelf that i can watch over and over again.

Will we be able to play our DVRAB when they change the format? I still have a problem with VHS and vinyl recorRAB- I've got hundreRAB that cannot be replaced. How on earth do I satisfactorily transfer them to DVD/CD?

I've been collecting since 1998 so I have well over 4000.

If you counted boxsets as individual discs rather than just one I dread to think what the total would be.

I have a few hundred tv series box sets .

But I would guess that 50% of the collection remains unwatched.

But with deletions and withdrawals I dont like to take chances on things

Agree with you.I prefer to see see films in the cinema and don't want to see one more than once tbh.If it's good then I'll watch it again when it comes on TV.That's why I've less than 20.Prefer to buy music albums with what money I can spare.Never watch the few DVD's I have.
