do you just look for a particular type of book or do you pick every book up and think i might like this, even though it is not the sort of book you normally read, i would be interested to know the consensus of opinions

I do a lot of reading and research for work, so I don't get to read as much as I would like in my leisure time... I mainly read non-fiction, and am particularly interested in history - maritime, criminal, Victorian period, quirky stuff like trivia. I also love the authors MC Beaton (Hamish Macbeth, Agatha Raisin series), Diana Gabaldon (Outlander series) and Lincoln/Preston's books, so look forward to those coming out, for a little escapism! I like all sorts of books, although usually find myself gravitating to non-fiction and if not, historical novels. Last week, I took advantage of there being a long weekend, so read one book in a day - sheer bliss!

I like to read everything and anything..it is surprising what you learn, especially that some subjects you thought were boring or even too advanced for your understanding is actually very interesting!
I even read a book of neurological surgery once! I didn't understand the medical jargon but the pictures were fascinating!

sci-fi books are the ones i am into, although when going on holiday sometimes i pick up on of those books that are left in a great pile next to the reception last time it was a massive crime thriller called polar star about a murder on a soviet fishing ship rather good apart from that i stick to sci-fi. I am reading stranger in a strange land and riverworld

Hi you. My answer is ambiguous. I love mysteries by British authors and always pick them up when I see them. But, I also will occasionally go to the library and pick out books at random. Sometimes I am pleasantly surprised and will find a new author I love. Also, I broaden my horizons by reading about new ideas and/or new subjects. But for pure reading pleasure, I stick with what I know I like and will enjoy.

Oh, I read about 1 book a week.

well i usually read 6 - 7 books in a week. and i usually like mysteries and case files type of books. well sometimes i pick books which i have no idea about and they turn out to be good.

I read 1-4 books a week, depending on how busy I am. My favourite genre is crime, but I always try to branch out, and not just go for crime books. I like to read a wide range of genres, and not just stick to what I know I'm going to like.

I read about 6 books a week, that is as much as I can take- at the moment i am reliving my 2nd childhood and love books like the very hungry caterpillar!

i SIMPLY GET ONE BEST BOOK & CHEW IT FOR A MONTH. I LIKE BOOKS HAVING SOME DEEP SENSES LIKE I COMPLETED - SANTA RAM, GOD OF SMALL THINGS, CHETAN BHAGAT'S BOOKS ETC

Depending on how big.
i only read about half a book a week - i like to take things slow and enjoy them, i am not the fastest reader but probably the fastest in my grade.
