How many acres does the advarge home and garden take up?

Lets say, two bedrooms, one bathroom and a small garden or similar, how many acres does that take up on average?
 
The average subdivision lot is less than one quarter of an acre, even with large homes on them.
Depending on your definition of a "small" garden, a 2B/1B home would leave plenty of room in the yard for a "home garden".
