How long would an electrical cable last for if it was never moved and stayed in one

position for all its life? We have this old phone cable going around most of our house and it's connected to some old connector thing outside the back door that you can tell is really old just by looking at it. This might not even be our cabling because about 2 different families have lived in this house before us.

This has got me wondering, how long would that cable be useful for if it stayed in that position wrapped around the house walls for it's entire life? Would it last for at least 50-100 years before it become non-conductive or one of its wires broke?
