how long would a 94-96 Toyota 4runner with over 100,000 miles last if I were to buy one

when i can drive? My parents say since its so old it will break down very fast and that it will be expensive to fix it. I thought that toyotas make good cars. Can anybody help me out with this and give me some ballpark estimates of how long the car will last me?
 
It all depends on how well it has thus far been maintained and how you will maintain it in the future. Just do your normal maintenance such as changing the oil, filters, spark plugs, etc. along with your bigger things such as timing belts.
 
my nissan has 480,000 still kicking.. miles mean little its the care the car was giving
 
If and only If it has been well mantained, it will do 300.000 miles if you are real carefull, and dont rip it arround, most common stuff to go wrong is rust and tranny, tranny can be expencive esp 4x4
