How long will Avatar be in cinemas for?

Well as it's been titled the most biggest selling movie ever (read that on RAB so forgive me if im wrong), how long will it stay in cinema?

The cineworld site has pretty frequent showings and i think i'd like to get round to seeing it again. I hope it's still showing within these next 2-3 weeks. :)

It's a great question.

I've never seen a film stick around in the cinemas & still have so many screenings, for so long.

I went to an IMAX screening in Manchester at 2.20pm last Wednesday & it was about 3/4 full, but the queue for the 5.30 screening was horrendous.

I do agree that even if your not keen on the story or think it's a bit lame, visually its stunning to watch and you can't get bored.

For me though, I like it altogether.

Like i said, i want to see it again, so hopefully there's more time in the cinema. It's about the only film that has really stuck around and has frequent times.

All the other studios have created their own problems, they have moved their films out of the way of this juggernaut in advance so joe public has very little to go and see if they want a night at the flicks.

That will have added to part of the massive takings, its either this, sherlock holmes or whatever latest (knicker wetting) vampire film is out for the girlies with pretty boys in it.

I have. the Full Monty showed at my local Cineworld (it was Virgin cinemas then) for six months. It was still showing when the video was released to rent.

And remember Mamma Mia just 18 months ago? that ran for several months also.

Reading Screen 4 12:30 performance which I went to yesterday there was about six people in there. Just the way I like it in fact, apart from the five other people, of course.

I was wanting to see it at the London Imax; it's on until March 4th.

Too late. Completely sold out apart from the 00.20 screenings, and I don't want to see it *that* much :)

Not long hopefully. It's taken over our multiplex - maybe they are waiting for me and the other half to see it then it'll go away!
